Education and employment:

1992 – 1996 – Undergraduate studies at the Department of Chemistry, University of Warsaw.
Dec. 1996 – Graduation with honour. Master thesis “The influence of the intermolecular interactions on the shielding constants of acetylene” completed in the Laboratory of Intermolecular Interactions under direction of Prof. Joanna Sadlej.
1997 – 2000 – Post-graduate studies at the Department of Chemistry, University of Warsaw; advisor: Prof. Joanna Sadlej
May 2000 – Completion of the Ph. D. thesis “The influence of the intermolecular interactions on the parameters of NMR spectra”.
since 2000 – Employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry,
University of Warsaw.
2001 – 2002 – On leave for a yearly postdoctoral stay in Instituto per i Procesi
Chimico-Fisici del C.N.R, Pisa, Italy.
2003 – 2004 – On leave for a post-doctoral stay at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, University of Tromso, Norway.
2007 – Habilitation
2007 – 2011 – Employed at 20% Professor II position at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of
Sciences, University of Tromso, Norway.

Primary research interests:

Ab initio calculations of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance parameters (spin-spin coupling
constants and NMR shielding constants), of spectroscopic properties associated with
chirality (optical rotation, Electronic Circular Dichroism spectra, Raman Optical
Activity Spectra), and linear and nonlinear hyperpolarizabilities. Spectroscopic
parameters as probes of molecular environment (including modelling of solvent
effects) and of molecular conformation (focus on biomolecules).
